Summer care

In the warmer weather I do the following things

1) Move hutches out of direct sunlight, they are kept under a gazebo for most of the summer.
2) Give them extra water bottles and make sure they are not empty or warm.
3) Give them something cool to lay next to, ie: frozen water bottle, ceramic tile.
4) Give them less bedding(no straw just sawdust)
5) Mist them with cool water
6) Place cat litter trays with cool shallow water in their runs
7) Clean hutches everyday
8) Check bottoms everyday and clean with warm water if dirty
9) Use a fly/flea repellent
10) Hang fly strips around the gazebo

Winter care

In the colder weather I do the following things

1) Give extra bedding in sleeping area, either hay or soft straw
2) Keep extra water bottles incase water freezes
3) Give them extra toys, tunnels ect... this keeps them active and will prevent boredom. I find a whole sheet of newspaper keeps them busy for a while plus they then have extra bedding!!
4) When weather is really bad the hutches are covered with tarpaulin, this stops draughts and rain getting in. The tarpaulin is see-through so if they are covered during the day they can still see whats going on.

5) I also give them extra greens as they are not eating the grass
